A recent section in Bloomberg Businessweek highlighted President Obama's unintentional celebrity endorsements. And it just doesn't take form in haphazard press pictures that turn up on the cover of magazines.
Sure, Obama rides a Trek bike, drinks Gatorade, and works on an iPad, but taking notice of what the President uses, wear, or likes is nothing new. Remember Clinton’s McDonald's obsession?
What's remarkable is that Weatherproof, an outdoor products company, had the gall to use a candid image of the President in an ad wearing a Weatherproof coat. While I applaud Weatherproof's bold, implied endorsement, what they've done is no more than a media stunt. But this tactic does bring to mind how influential the President and his family can be on our personal style and preferences. Now, if he can manage to fix our economy he might make a really great pitchman and President.
