The Mandarin Oriental Hotel's fans just keep growing! They've added 3 new celebrities (Kevin Spacey, Christian Louboutin, and Sophie Marceau) to their roster of fans (that receive $10,000 for their charity of choice for appearing in the ads). The campaign is a clever play off of their iconic Mandarin Oriental Hotel fan logo. Each ad uses a simple design of a photo with the copy "He's a Fan" or "She's a Fan."
While I think these advertisements are actually very good, you do lose some, if not all, of the impact of the celebrity campaign with "celebrities" that you can't recognize. It could be easily remedied if the copy were moved to a more prominent spot.
Overall, these ads are clean, clear, and clever – a great combination.
